On February 1st, FootJoy’s radical new golf shoe, ReelFit was launched, with a rich pedigree and unprecedented expectation.
So what exactly is ReelFit? FootJoy have worked for three years with Boa Technology Inc. to give golfers access to Boa’s sports proven technology – and deliver new levels of comfort, convenience and fit. Boa have pioneered a new laceless system in footwear to ensure snug, comfy fit and supremely easy release and removal.
A simple wheel located on the shoe’s heel allows the shoe’s opening to be closed around the foot till snug but comfortable – and then pull the dial out for quick release to take the shoe off. Simple, effective and quick.
And what’s best is that the technology has been already live tested in numerous other high bio-stress sports like snowboarding, cycling and ice hockey. With its performance and robustness beyond question, FootJoy have secured a three year exclusivity agreement in golf.
When ReelFit was first shown to Tour Pro’s at the Deutsche Bank Championship, the response from the normally conservative Tour Pro’s was phenomenal with requests from over seventy players. Adam Scott, Davis Love III, David Toms, Simon Dyson and JB Holmes have all already embraced ReelFit technology.
"I have been wearing FootJoy golf shoes for my entire professional career. Their latest ReelFit golf shoe provides me with an incredible level of comfort and stability. with just a few simple clicks to the dial on the back of the shoe, I get a custom fit over the top of my foot unlike anything I have worn before." Adam Scott, PGA Tour Professional.
