Denmark’s Morten Ø*** Madsen won his first European Tour title in his 28th start, with a two shot victory in the South African Open Championship.
Madsen wearing FJ ICON™ shoes got his season off to the perfect start by winning the opening event of the 2014 Race to Dubai finishing ahead of South Africans Jbe Kruger (FJ ICON & SciFlex™) and Hennie Otto (FJ Sport Spikeless) at Glendower GC on 19 under par.
The 25 year old, shot four rounds in the 60’s and showed strong mental dexterity after he overcame four bogeys on the front nine of his first round. The Dane followed this up with an eagle and five birdies and then dropped only three more shots for the rest of the tournament.
The former European Challenge Tour graduate commented: “It’s been an amazing day. I don’t really know right now (how I feel). It’s kind of clichéd to say it hasn’t really sunk in, but it really hasn’t.
“I’m just over the moon. I’m so happy. I mean coming down here, I expected to play well but I didn’t expect to stand here ... right now, that’s for sure.”
Madsen added: “I love the golf course. It’s pretty similar to my home course. Its tree lined and (has) really good greens. I definitely really enjoyed it.”
The win moves Madsen inside the top 120 of the Official World Golf Ranking from 244th and guarantees him a European Tour exemption until the end of the 2015 season, as well as a place in the 2014 Volvo Golf Champions and 2014 WGC – HSBC Champions events.

Henrik Stenson closed out his “dream season” in emphatic style by winning the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai by a commanding six shots. Stenson also became the first man to win The Race to Dubai and FedEx Cup on the US PGA Tour after carding a flawless final round of 64 which included a tap in eagle on the par 5 eighteenth.
The swede wearing FJ ICON™ shoes and FJ Pure Touch™ gloves aptly finished the tournament with a record total of 25 under par on the Earth course at Jumeirah Golf Estates, after an imperious performance from Thursday through to Sunday.
Stenson carded birdies at one, three, five and seven to go out in four under par and he continued to turn the screw on the back nine as he birdied twelve and fourteen and then eagled eighteen without dropping a shot all day.
"It has been an incredible summer for me, the (autumn) in America was great and now this," said Stenson, who was also second in The Open Championship and third in the US PGA Championship. "It has been a dream season.
"I don't know how I am going to be able to top this next year but I am going to give my best in the Majors and that (becoming the first male Swedish player to win one) would be the icing on the cake."
France's Victor Dubuisson (Contour Casual™) vying for a second win in two weeks eventually finished third, with Dutchman Joost Luiten (FJ Sport™) fourth and former World Number Ones - Luke Donald (FJ ICON) and Lee Westwood (FJ ICON & StaSof®) - sharing fifth.
Stenson currently remains in third in the Official World Golf Ranking but he does close the gap on Adam Scott (FJ Sport & StaSof) in second.
The 37 year old also made European Tour history on Sunday by becoming the first player to be Number One on both the European Challenge Tour (2000) and The European Tour in 2013.
Congratulations Henrik from everyone here at FJ we could not be happier for you!

The Race to Dubai reaches its *** this week and we are here in Dubai to see what unfolds:
Victor Dubuisson held his nerve superbly to shoot a final round of 69 and fend off a high profile chasing pack to clinch his first European Tour victory at the Turkish Airlines Open.
The Frenchman wearing Contour Casual™ golf shoes and FJ Apparel, headed into the last round with a five-shot lead, but given the quality of his peers, including The Race to Dubai leader – Henrik Stenson (FJ ICON™ & Pure Touch™); it was always going to be a long day for Dubuisson.
The 23 year olds performance was superlative under such pressure and he showed a level of positivity that held strong throughout the round, even if his scoring didn’t quite reflect this during his front nine.
Indeed, nine straight pars certainly gave a glimmer of hope to the field and it appeared Jamie Donaldson (FJ ICON™ & StaSof®) would be in with a shout, especially after he made an ace on 16 to claim a million air miles, a prize that will come in handy for the touring professional.
The bigger prize was not to be for Donaldson, however, and despite briefly tying for the lead Dubuisson converted birdies on 10, 15 17 and 18 to close out in style and claim the €848,930 first prize by two strokes.
“I don't know how to describe it,” said Dubuisson. “Now I don't realise what's happening. I felt so much pressure on the last hole.
“But even on the last putt, I was feeling so much stress. After this day, it was the longest day on the course that I've ever had. I'm very proud of what I did.”
Heading across the Indian Ocean to the Australian PGA Championship and Adam Scott delighted the home crowd with a superb victory at Royal Pines.
On a storm-delayed final round Scott (FJ Sport™shoes & StaSof®) shot 4-under over the closing seven holes to finish on 14-under -270 and claim his first-ever Joe Kirkwood Cup.
The four shot victory topped off a superb year for 33 year old, the highlight of course being his first major win at Augusta in April.
"It's exactly what I wanted this week. It's all worked out," Scott told Grandstand.
"It's kind of the icing on the cake this one for me this year I think. With everything that's happened and then to win here is a great feeling in front of friends and family and all the Queenslanders."
