Jamie Donaldson recorded a second European Tour title victory – The Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship in what was a nail biting finish.

Donaldson (FJ ICON™ and StaSof®) who had been swinging the club very well all week and showed a fine touch on the greens, managed to reach the 17th hole two shots clear of his nearest rival. However, a three-putt bogey on the final hole left the door open for the final group to force a play-off.

Luckily for the Welshman his opponents could not capitalise on his mistake and that left him as the champion. He stated:
“It’s pretty surreal really; I’ve played really good all week although I’ve got away with murder up the last,”

“I thought one of them would hole if not both, but when both putts slipped by it was my week.” Donaldson added.

His 68 gave him a 14 under par total of 274 and Donaldson, who earned his place at Augusta National by climbing into the top 50 by the end of last year, has now risen to 29th in the world rankings.

It was also an excellent week for FJ ambassador - Ricardo Santos (FJ Sport™ and StaSof®) who built on his 28th place last week in Durban to finish fourth and claim € 101,018.

The Portuguese player has seen his stock rise on the European Tour, having claimed his maiden victory last year at the Madeira Islands Open in Portugal.

Next week sees the European Tour move to Qatar for the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters at Doha GC.
