Louis Oosthuizen (DryJoys Tour™ #53607 and SciFlex™) overhauled a five shot deficit with a fantastic final round of 66 to win the Volvo Golf Champions.
The 30 year old followed rounds of 68, 64 and 74 with a joint best-of-the-day 66 at the Durban Country Club and it gave him the €350,000 first prize by one shot. Oosthuizen managed to close the lead by the 12th hole and a birdie at the 14th followed by his only bogey of the day at 16 was enough for the victory.
It’s the South African’s sixth European Tour title, one that elevates him to second in The Race to Dubai and impressively takes the former Challenge Tour player to a career-high fourth in the Official World Golf Rankings.
"It was a great week - a lot of things happened," said Louis, who on Friday won a new excavator for his farm for being part of the winning team in the day's pro-am. It’s not the first time the South African has come away with farming equipment after a win - he treated himself to a special present - a tractor after his 2010 Open win at St Andrews.
It was also strong performance for family FootJoy with top ten finishes from Padraig Harrington (XPS-1™ and PureTouch®), (Julien Quesne (FJ ICON™), Paul Lawrie (FJ ICON™ and StaSof®), Nicolas Colsearts (FJ ICON ™ and PureTouch®), Rafa Cabrera-Bello (FJ ICON™ and RainGrip®) and Matteo Manassero (FJ Sport and PureTouch®).
