World number one, Rory McIlroy closed out the season ending Dubai World Championship with five straight birdies to wrap up his second European Tour win of the season.

Entering the final round tied with Luke Donald, McIlroy faltered early allowing the Englishman to take the upper hand.  McIlroy (FJ Sport and Pure Touch) responded with three birdie s on the front nine to carry a one stroke lead into the back.  On the final nine, McIlroy made six birdies to take home the title by two strokes over his nearest competitor.

“It’s an unbelievable feeling – I said I wanted to win both trophies this week and that is exactly what I’ve managed to do," said McIlroy of becoming the second player ever to win the money title on each said of the Atlantic in a single calendar year.  Continuing, "I knew I needed to do something special over the closing few holes - I really couldn’t have wished for a better ending."

This is Rory's sixth worldwide win of the 2012 season.
