FJ Ambassador Tom Lewis, wearing FJ ICON shoes and StaSof glove, produced a magnificent final round of 65,to win on only his third professional outing at the Portugal Masters.

Lewis’ seven under par round at Oceânico Victoria Golf Course saw him cut through the field, and at 21 under for the week he finished two ahead of fellow FJ Loyalist Rafael Cabrera-Bello.
Lewis started with birdies from five feet at the first and fifth, but the real fireworks were saved for the back nine.

A two-putt birdie at the par five 12th was followed by a pitch to six feet at the 14th, seting up another birdie. He then drove the green at the par four 15th where two more putts moved him further up the leaderboard. At 16, only one putt was required from 30 feet to secure another birdie, and when Lewis reached the 17th green in two and rolled his eagle putt to within a foot, he had birdied five of his last six holes to blow away a world-class field.

Playing on a sponsor’s invitation, he became the first sponsor’s invite to win on The European Tour since FJ loyalist Matteo Manassero at the 2010 Castello Masters Costa Azahar.

Instead of facing a trip to the European Tour Qualifying School in December - he is now exempt for two seasons and moves to 53rd on the Race to Dubai money list.

Lewis scooped an impressive €416,660 , taking his earnings to €441,018 for the season so far.
