This week's diary entry comes from Madrid, Spain

You couldn't ask for better golfing conditions when we arrived at El Encin Golf Course, 30 minutes from the centre of Madrid. With the mercury creeping up to 29 degrees, and a little breeze, the players were looking forward to getting started this week.

Congratulations to FJ Ambassador, Michael Hoey, who withstood a late charge from fellow FJ Ambassador, Rory McIlroy, to claim his 2nd title of the year. With this win, Michael has hauled himself into the top twenty on the Order of Merit, and inside the top 100 in the world, for the first time in his career. Michael's win was the 20th time the player in the winners circle have been wearing FJ's!

Back to this week, and it is a brand new golf course on the circuit. With not much rough, generous fairways and pure greens, the scoring could be low. The only defence the course has is the undulations on the greens. If you get the wrong side of some of the slopes, a 3 putt could certainly be on the cards, but if you’re on the right side, you will be rewarded with holeable putts.

World Number One and FJ Loyalist, Luke Donald, has returned to Spain to defend his crown. The Race to Dubai leader is looking to keep up his charge, and extend his lead (currently over 1 million Euro) as we head into a run of big money events.
