FJ ambassador, Robert Rock (FJ ICON MyJoys) secured his maiden European Tour Title win this weekend at the BMW Italian Open. This was Rock’s 209th attempt at victory, and the nine-year Tour veteran who has previously had three runners-up places on the European Tour, was not going to let victory slip through his fingers this time.
Rock, two clear overnight, seemed understandably nervous over the opening holes and a bogey at the third could have added to much pressure on the 34-year-old. This wasn’t the case with Rock responding in style, reeling off four consecutive birdies from the fifth and further gains at the 10th & 11th put Rock in the driving seat to victory.
Rock safely navigated his was round his last few holes for a final round-five-under-par 67 to finish on 21 under for the tournament, securing a one shot lead from his fellow FJ ambassador Gary Boyd. The win for Rock secured him first place prize of €250,000. Rob’s next date is a debut appearance at the US Open in Maryland on Thursday, and on this form he will be a good outside bet.
FJ was once again the shoe of choice with 71% of the field lacing up in the #1 Shoe in Golf.
