FJ ambassador, Thomas Aiken (FJ ICON), stormed to victory at this weekend’s Open de Espana, held at El Prat near Barcelona. The South African lifted his first European Tour title, edging out fellow FJ shoe wearer Anders Hansen by two shots. Home favourite, Pablo Larrazabal produced a fine display, finally finishing tied third.

The 27 year old from Johannesburg, was playing his first tournament after a seven week lay-off to re-charge his batteries, and it proved to do the trick. With a ten under par total of 278, Aiken secured his first place prize of €333,330.

Following his win, Aiken was quick to dedicate his victory to Seve Ballesteros, who sadly passed away this weekend. “Seve was an inspiration to us all and we were all trying to win it for him. No matter who had won I think they would have wanted to dedicated the win to him” Aiken commented.

FJ was once again the prefered shoe choice for the majority of the field this week, with 65% of the field opting for the #1 Shoe in Golf.
