David Horsey won the Trophée Hassan II in a tense three man all FJ play-off. Going into the final round, Horsey shared the lead with his fellow FJ ambassador, Ryhs Davies (FJ ICON & SciFlex). The Englishman made the perfect start to the round with a hole-in-one at the 180 yard second, but Davies managed to claw back Horsey’s lead. Both players exchanged blows all day long and it was fitting that such a tough encounter was to be decided in a sudden death, three man play-off.
The first hole of the play-off was halved, with all three players making par. This left the players marching back to the 18th tee to do battle again. Horsey’s challengers both made par at the second play-off hole, with the 25 year-old making birdie to secure his second European Tour Title.
Speaking after his win a relieved Horsey commented “To win is a great feeling that hasn’t quite sunk in yet but I am sure it will in the next day of two”.
Horsey secured the first place cheque of €250,000 in the style and comfort of FJ ICON.
