Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño won the Quinn Insurance British Masters at the Belfry after an enthralling playoff with fellow FootJoy wearer Lee Westwood. The Spaniard started his final round three shots adrift of Westwood but a flawless final round, which did not contain a single bogey, saw him share the lead with Westwood after both players finished on 12 under par 276. Castaño finally took a grip on the trophy at the fourth playoff hole, holing a 10-footer to claim the £300,000 first prize. The win secured the 27 year old his fourth career victory and the perfect playoff record having won two of his previous four titles via that method.

Both Castaño and Westwood endured the pressure of the playoff in a pair of all white FootJoy Classics (style 50867). In total 10 of the golfers who finished in the top ten places and ties opted for the style and comfort of FootJoy Golf Shoes.
