Pablo Larrazabal has been crowned the newest star on the European Tour after winning the Open de France ALSTOM at Le Golf National. The 25 year old Spaniard held off the challenge of fellow FootJoy players, Soren Hansen (All Black Classics), Lee Westwood (All White Classics) and Marcus Brier (All Black ReelFits) to claim his first European Tour win. Larrazabal, who five years ago was caddying for his brother at the same tournament, stormed to a four shot win after carding a fantastic final round of four under par 67, seeing him finish on 15 under par 269. The win earns the FootJoy wearer €666,660 and an additional bonus of a guaranteed start at the Open Championship, his first major championship start.
Larrazabal strode to victory in a pair of all white Classics Dry Premiere, and the shoes waterproof properties were put to the ultimate test when the Spaniard was thrown in the lake in front of the 18th green by his compatriots.
