Spanish sensation Gonzalo Fernández-Castaño came out on top after a thrilling play-off to take the Telecom Italia Open Title from fellow FootJoy ambassador Markus Brier. Unseasonably bad weather in Italy forced the event to be cut short to 54 holes, and it was FootJoy product that won through, both in the form of FootJoy Classics golf shoes and the stylish Red Label Collection Outerwear, helping Gonzalo to finsh the event on 16 under par after just three rounds. Sweden's Fredrik Andersson Hed completed the FootJoy 1-2-3. Just one week later it was Englishman Lee Westwood who took the top spot at the Valle Romano Open de Andalucia. Westwood entered the event with the aim of finding his putting touch, and in achieving this strode to a comfortable 2 stroke victory ahead of Andersson-Hed who continues his rich run of form. Over 64% of the field wore FootJoy shoes in Spain, almost 3 times that of the nearest competitor.
