Scott Verplank dialled his FootJoy ReelFit golf shoes to carry him to an dramatic one stroke victory over fellow FootJoy wearer Luke Donald at the recent EDS Byron Nelson Championship. Verplank had the privilege of growing up in Dallas alongside the man after whom the tournament is named and cherished the chance to talk to and learn from "Lord" Byron Nelson.

As the lead passed between playing partners Verplank and Donald, it was Scott who stood on the 18th tee with a one stroke advantage. Both hit the fairway and drew mid irons into the tight pin, and after Verplank's birdie effort slid past, Donald's attempt to take the tournament into extra time also failed to drop. After four consecutive rounds in the 60's and closing with a stunning 66 Scott emerged as a worthy and emotional winner.

Verplank put his trust in a pair of black FootJoy ReelFit golf shoes model #53808 which were comfort-fitted to perfection, while Donald sported a pair of Classics Dry Premiere. A good weekend for FootJoy was rounded off with Jerry Kelly completing a FootJoy 1-2-3 in a pair of white and brown ReelFit shoes. FootJoy was the clear choice of golf shoe for over 70% of the field, with the nearest competitor representing just 16%.
