How do I comment on a forum post?

Make sure you are logged in to FJ Community. When you are logged in, the "reply" button will appear on the bottom of the forum comments, as well as the comment box at the bottom of the page. Click "reply" to submit your comment for moderation.

How do I quote someone else's post in my post?

Using the "Quote" button at the bottom of the person's post will quote their comment in your reply.

How do I include a photo or video in my comment?

  1. Click on the "Use rich formatting" link in the reply box. Use rich formatting
  2. Once in the rich text page, click the appropriate button to insert a photo or video in your post. Insert Photo Button

How do I add a link in my comment?

Using the comment box to share a link:

  • Copy the URL link you want to share and paste into your comment. When you post your comment, the link will automatically shorten and be clickable.

Adding hyperlinked text to a comment:

  • Use the "rich text" link to compose your post.
  • Highlight the text you want to hyperlink and click the Link Icon icon.
  • In the popup that opens, paste the URL of the link you want to share into the "Link URL" field, and click "insert". Now the text will link to the URL you pasted in the popup.

How do I see if my question has already been discussed?

If you have a question that you think might have been asked before, you can use the search feature in the top right corner of the page to search past discussions by keyword. If you can't find your answer, feel free to post it to the Discussions. The FJ Community is very welcoming and helpful to newcomers!

How do I start a discussion?

  • Make sure you are logged in.
  • You can start a discussion by using the widget in the top right corner of the discussions page, or if you want to insert any photos, videos, or links in your post, you can use the "rich text" link in the discussion widget.
  • Just make sure you select the appropriate category for your post before you submit it.

How do I know what category to put my topic in?

If you are posting about a specific topic or FootJoy product, select the appropriate category. Any topics that do not fall under one of the categories may be posted in the General discussion forum.

How do I change the discussion category?

Once you have posted a discussion to the forums, there is no way to change the category. If you think you have posted to the wrong category, don't worry. All the discussion forums are moderated by FJ Staff.

How do I delete a comment I posted?

Once you have submitted a comment for moderation, there is no way to delete it. If you want a comment you submitted to be deleted, you can contact FJ Community Support for assistance.

How do I tag my post?

To tag your discussion posts, use the rich text link to compose your post. At the bottom of the rich text page there will be a field to attach tags to your post. You can tag the post with your own keywords by separating each tag with a comma, or you can use the "Select Tags" feature, and choose from previously used tags. Select Tags

Why isn't my comment showing up?

Once you post your comment, it will be submitted for moderation by an FJ moderator. Once your post is approved, it will appear in the discussion. You will also receive an automatic email notification when your post is approved.

How do I subscribe to a discussion?

At the top of the discussion thread page, there will be a "Subscribe to this thread" link. Clicking this link will enable email notifications whenever there is a new comment on the thread.

How do I unsubscribe to a discussion?

If you have subscribed to a thread, there will be an "Unsubscribe from this thread" link in the same location that the "Subscribe to this thread" link was in on the discussion page.

How do I subscribe to a discussion category?

  • Go to the page of the discussion category you wish to subscribe to.
  • At the top of the page there will be a "Subscribe to this forum" link. Subscribe
  • Clicking this link will automatically subscribe you to receive email notifications whenever there is activity in the forum.

How do I unsubscribe to a discussion category?

  • To unsubscribe from a discussion category, look in the same place on the page where you found the "Subscribe to this forum" link.
  • There will now be an "Unsubscribe from this forum" link. Clicking this link will automatically unsubscribe you from the automatic email notifications.

How do I comment on a blog post?

  • From the main Blog page: Click the "Add comment" link under the Blog title. That will take you to the comment box at the bottom of the full post page.
  • From the Blog post page: Clicking the "Post a Comment" link at the bottom of any comment on the blog post will take you to the comment box at the bottom of the page.

How do I find old blog posts?

  • Tag clouds: You can use the tag cloud on the right side of the blog page to search for old blog posts by keyword. All you have to do is click on the keywords that you want to search for.
  • Search: Type the keyword you wish to search for into the search bar in the site header and submit your search. Once the results appear, narrow them down to Blog results using the filter menu on the left side of the page.

How do I delete a comment I posted?

There is no way to delete a blog comment once you have submitted it for moderation. If you need a comment you posted to be deleted, you can contact FJ Community Support for assistance.

How do I select or upload a picture for my profile?

  1. Go to your Profile page on Community.
  2. Click the "Edit Profile" button in the top right corner. Edit Profile
  3. Click "Change Avatar" Change Avatar
  4. This will open a popup window where you can upload a picture for your avatar, or use one of the default avatars under the "Select an Avatar" tab.
  5. Once you have uploaded or selected an Avatar, submit your selection to close the popup and click "Save Profile" in the top right corner to save your changes.

How do I complete/edit my profile information?

Go to your Profile on FootJoy and fill out all fields that display the blue star Insert Photo Button icon. Once all of the fields are completed, you will be awarded 200 points!

How do I change my Sign in name?

To change your username, please contact FJ Community Support.

How do I change my email address?

To change the email address attached to your account, please contact FJ Community Support

How do I add products to My Locker?

  1. Go to the Product Registration page on your FJ Account.
  2. Look up the Style number of the product on FootJoy.com. The Style number can be found on two places on the product detail page: Style Number
  3. Fill out the Product Type, Category, Style # and size information on the Product Registration page, and submit. For the first 10 products you register, you will be awarded 10 points each!

Friends TOP

How do I add friends?

  1. Go to the profile page of the user you would like to add to your friends list.
  2. Click on the "Add as Friend" button on the top right corner of the page. Add as Friend

How do I cancel a friend request?

If you would like to cancel the pending friend request, you can use the button on the user’s profile page. You can also go to the "Your Requests" tab on the Friends page of your Profile, and use the "Cancel request" button. Cancel Friend Request

How do I accept friend requests?

You will receive a notification when you have a pending friend request, which you can accept or deny by going to the "Requests to review" tab on the Friends page of your profile.

What if I don't know the person?

You can choose to deny the friend request, or you can choose to accept it and make a new friend. Your friends on the FJ Community will not be able to access any of your information beyond what is displayed on your public profile.

How do I remove friends?

You can remove a friend by going to the Friends tab of the Friends page of your profile, and clicking the "Remove as Friend" button next to the user you wish to remove. Remove Friend

Private Messages TOP

What is a private message and who can see it?

A private message is a conversation you can start which will only be seen by you and one or more other users on the FJ Community. The only people who will be able to read and respond to the message are the ones you choose to send it to.

How do I send a private message?

There are several ways that you can send a private message:

  1. Use the "Send private message" link that you can find in the top right corner of the profile page of the person you want to send the message to.
  2. If you are friends with the person, you can use the "Start Conversation" button (will change to Send private message?) that you find to the right of their username on your Friends tab.
  3. You can also use the "Send private message" button located on the messages tab of your profile. This button will bring up a popup. Type the username (or usernames, you can send a private message thread to multiple users) in the "Recipients" field, fill in your message, and send.

How will I know that I have private messages?

You will receive an automated email notification when someone sends you a private message. Within the FJ Community, the private message notification will appear as a red bubble above the "Private Messages" link on the top of the page, showing the number of unread messages you have. There will also be a new Messages notification that appears in your User Badge on the homepage, to the right of your Avatar.

Where can I read my private messages?

You can read your private messages on the Messages page of your Profile.

How do I delete private messages?

You can delete private messages by going to the Messages tab on your Profile. The delete button will be on the right side of the page. Delete Private Messages

How do I submit a Product Rating/Review?

To submit a review of an FJ product, go to the product page on FootJoy.com, and click the "Write a review" link that can be found on the right side of the page. After your review is submitted for moderation, you will receive 20 points each for your first 5 reviews! Submit Review

I just became an ambassador but am not seeing the Ambassadors-Only link yet.

The Ambassadors Only link should appear in your navigation as soon as you level up. If it is not appearing, try logging out and logging back in again. If the link still does not show up, please contact FJ Community Support.

The slide show shows featured Ambassadors, so not all Ambassador-level members will appear in the widget.

I am getting emails every time someone posts to a discussion, how do I make it stop?

Go to the discussion page and follow the instructions to Unsubscribe from a discussion

I am not receiving emails when someone sends me a private message, why not?

In times of high traffic, it is sometimes necessary for FJ Staff to turn off email notifications on the FJ Community. They are usually reactivated within a few days. If the problem persists, please contact FJ Community Support.

Why aren't my comments showing up after I post them?

Once you post your comment it will be submitted for approval by an FJ moderator. When the comment is approved you will receive an email notification that it has been posted to the forum.

I can't remember my password, how do I find out what it was?

Use the "Reset Password" function on the Sign in page, and a new password will be sent to you.

What do I do if I see inappropriate content?

Please report it to FJ Community Support.

What is with the smiley faces?

Some people choose to add smileys and emoticons to their posts to express themselves and make jokes. While FJ Community does not prevent the use of emoticons, there is no ability to add an emoticon from within the rich text editor. If you wish to insert an emoticon in your post, you will have to copy and paste it from elsewhere. FJ also asks that the use of emoticons be kept within reasonable limits. The over-use of emoticons may result in a post not passing moderation.
