Yesterday (3 Feb 2012), DOGLOSKI hosted fredcloss and his wife, Pinky, and me for a round of golf at Kingwood CC.  The weather in the Houston area has been iffy most of the week--warm, but wet, with a good bit of rain.  None of us was sure whether or not we'd actually get to play, but the golf gods were with us--more or less.  We met up in the pro shop before our around noon tee-time and instant camaraderie ensued.  We even had to team up to persuade Pinky not to buy dreaded swoosh shoes while on a FootJoy outing!

With the rain holding off, but the course soaking wet, we proceeded to the tee.  Fred and I played at 6400, while Doug and Pinky played the 5800 yard tees.  We started well, but the wet conditions and intermittent drizzle made it tough going.

Not bad, Fred, just pulled it a bit.

At the end of the first nine, some heavier rain was coming, so we pulled into the halfway house and waited it out.

We let a following fivesome through, then proceeded to the 10th.  By the time we got through the 12th, we began to see lightning, so picked up after our tee shots on 13 and went in.  Lunch was fun.  Lots of talk about each other, getting to know one another better.  Plus we were the only people in the dining room, so we had terrific service.  Fred, Pinky, and I decided to finish the round after the weather eased, but Doug called it a day.  Back to 13 to play the last 6 holes, finishing just before dark.

While not the golfing weather we had hoped for, the day was exceptionally pleasant, getting to know fellow Forum participants.  Doug and I both showed off our FJA gear, with Doug wearing his Medinah outfit.  Fred had his personalized grey and white MyJoys DryJoy Tours.  An excellent outing, one we hope to be able to do again in the future--with better weather.

(I apologize for the quality of the photos.  They were my first tries with my new iPod Touch 4th gen.  I hope Fred's are better and that he will post a few for you to enjoy.)

Very nice! I am hoping to get with the New England folks this summer for some golf, too!

Looked like a great time. Glad FJ offers us this medium to interact and enjoy the game. Truly the best company out there!

Spectacular! Look at you all. And I absolutely recognize that prolific pose and ensemble on the fine gentleman from Houston.... Doug!

What a wonderful opportunity for you all to get together and play. Congratulations and brilliant.

We had a blast - got to play in the muck, get all nasty and test out the Footjoy waterproof guarantee on out Dry Joy Tour shoes. No drips, no runs and no errors. Still, we had to get picture or two of Ted (pulplvr) and Doug (dogloski) and my wife Wendy/Pinkie. We have to do this again soon.
