Spring training is upon us. Who is your favorite team and how will they fare this year?
I am a Cub fan as you might be able to tell from my photo and as usual, I will hope for the best but plan for the worst this season. My expectations are not very high this year, maybe 1 playoff win. not one series win, just one game win in the playoffs. Anything more than that will be gravy.
NOW I AM A HOUSTON ASTROS FAN, BUT DEEP DOWN I WILL ALWAYS BE A ST.LOUIS CARDINAL FAN.(GREW UP THERE, WENT TO COLLEGE THERE, AND AM A STAN MUSIAL COLLECTOR FOR YEARS). HE IS MY HERO.
I'm an Atlanta Braves fan.
This is Bobby Cox's last year so they've got incentive to send him out with a good season. They've also made some good offseason aquisitions including a great closer in Billy Wagner. They may be able to contend with the Phillies but they have been awfully tough the last couple of years.
HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A PITTSBURGH PIRATES FAN.................
MAYBE SOME DAY...............
FAVORITE PLAYER OF ALL TIME....
ROBERTO CLEMENTE!!!!!!!
Grew up an Expos fan, but since they are gone I have become a Brewers fan. They are looking good so far in spring and I have playoff hopes for them TY.
go long island ducks! go mets!
Well, let's see....born and raised in Boston and now working about 40 miles south of the city....I've been a Red Sox fan my whole life!
I reluctantly approved Pablo's post above.....
Atlanta Braves fan all my life.
And sorry Pablo, but I pull for anyone playing the yankees
Grew up in suburban Chicago as a youngster and I actually rooted for both the White Sox and the Cubs. Still do actually. That's because in baseball I cheer more for players than teams, since professional sports has become a game of mercenaries.
I'm actually trying to contain my laughter here as Chris actually let that larger than life Yankees logo be depicted here on the FJ site. That would be FJ, based in suburban Boston, home of the Red Sox (as he notes), and also home to Acushnet.
Pablo, I wouldn't plan on that logo staying up very long my friend!
Born and raised in St. Louis, no doubt a Cardinals fan. Living in KC, I am still close enough to drive to drive back home for playoff games too. Unfortunately, it may be a while before the Royals make it there.
DOG, I am a Musial fan myself. I had the good fortune to go to High School with his grandson so I had the chance to speak with him many times. He is the classic sports hero, like Clemente, never a bad thing heard about him.
I'm with Dog -- grew up a St. Louis fan, loved Stan the Man. Since I live in KC, I really want to root for the Royals, but . . . . they suck.
By the way, did anybody notice Robert Allenby got eagles on a par 3, a par 4 and a par 5 at Doral? As Golf Week says, is this the golf equivalent of hitting for the cycle?
Phightin' Phills!!!!!
THE FIRST PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL TEAM, THE CINCINNATI REDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hey chris, do you ever go to the company summer paw-sox game? it sounds fun. i like minor league baseball, it is so intimate and every seat is a good one.
