For as long as I could remember I have always interlocked.  For some reason while warming up this past Sunday morning I decided to try the Vardon grip.  I was immediately shocked at the results.  I have always struggled with my release, by getting a little "flippy" at the bottom.  The Vardon grip basically took the right hand off of the club.  I played all 18 with my new grip and drove the ball as good as I have in a long time.  I asked around at my club and most use the Vardon grip.  Which grip do you use and why?

I have recently switched to the interlock from the Vardon.  I decided that it was easier for me to release the club.  I felt a little more connected with both hands.  My problem is I am a lefty playing from the right side of the ball.  With that being the case I have release issues period so any little thing helps.

I have always been an overlap guy. I also find that the interlock inhibits my release. It also feels like I am going to rip my little finger off every time I have tried it!

as a kid i learned with the interlocking grip, but as i got older that grip would tend to cause pain so i went to the vardin even before i knew it had a name.

I have large hands so I have to overlap but I interlock on the putter. My son who is 9 is interlocking right now but may have to switch because he is pushing everything right, I don't think he is getting his right hand over and is leaving the culb face open at impact.

I have always used overlap since i was a kid, my coach has only adjusted my grip, but never changed it dramatically.

I have an overlap grip.  I used to use a interlocking grip, but I would turn the club over at impact and cause a hard hook out of no where.  With the interlocking grip, my right hand stays out of the release and just follows my left hand.  For me, it is more comfortable then the interlocking grip.  With the putter I use the overlap grip also, but I overlap my left index finger over my right pinkie finger (right handed golfer).

I learned to play with an interlocking grip, but was switched over to the Vardon by an LPGA touring pro at a clinic about 2 years after I started playing and I've never looked back.  I have actually helped some of my friends and relatives switch over...they all prefer it once they've gotten accustomed to it.

I've always used the interlock grip.  I learned that grip from lessons as a little kid and that's been the only grip I've ever used.  It's worked, so I've never changed it.

I was using the interlocking grip, but I started to get a pain in my left index finger. I just started using the overlap and feel I hold the club looser and get a better release.

I've always been an interlocker - I don't feel like I have enough hand on the club with Vardon grip.

Can't say that I've ever tried that one. I would think that it would be a bit harder to control the clubhead with though.

My buddy plays with a ten finger grip.  We are always trying to get him to change, but he sticks to his guns.  He uses it with decent success.  He maintains a 10 handicap.  It is hilarious when we try and get him to try something different.  He will hit some god-awful shots when he changes that grip.  To each his own I suppose.

I have never used the baseball grip... it does not feel right for me.  I've tried it, but I feel like I am too "handsy" (I don't know if that is a word) with it and flip through the shot.  I know it works great for some people though, all 10 fingers on the club...

+1, I didn't even think about the baseball grip.
