I have played in tournaments, in club championships and on the weekends with the guys and my Foot Joy Classics Tour shoes with Optiflex are the most comfortable and high performance shoes I have ever owned. In fact they are the only shoes I will ever compete in.
Have you tried any of the other styles of FJs?
If you feel like that, I suggest that you have your pro look to see which styles are still available and order a few pair.
On the other side, from all that has been said here the new FJ Icon seems to be an even better shoe, but I will reserve my final judgement until I have played a few rounds in them.
Sad to see FootJoy close down the USA plant that makes the Classics. I know economic times dictate certain changes, but I'm positive that other options existed. I have 3 pairs of classics; black/brown saddle in traditional leather, pebbled black with red gator, and a really sweet brown Llama pair. I only wear these when I'm in tournaments or playing at nice clubs where I prefer to dress more upscale. Each of these styles just feel so "old school" and elegant, and I always walk a bit taller when I have them on.
Now that Icons are available, I will be taking a look at getting a couple pairs in "personalized" color schemes. Actually, that white and light blue pair in your photo here has some nice possibilities! But I am sad that whatever I choose will not be the same "Made in the USA" product from Boston.
Could not agree more. I am sad that they are closing the USA plant. I have not tried the FJ Icon, but will be hard to beat the Classics Tours I have.
I still think the Classic Dry Premiere line were the best looking golf shoes made.

Nuff said! These are hands down the sexiest, classiest, best performing shoes there are. I am sad to see these go, but hopefully the ICONs will be just as good or better.

Did you just keep the one pair, or did you have several classics?
I feel like the ICON is just as good as the CT if not better. There are some pretty nice reviews about them. Poulter is loving them from what I have heard and he is the style man. Classy shoes with the CLASSIC feel. You won't be disappointed.
I have a mix of 10 pair of Classics and Classic Dry Premiers. Waiting for 3 pair of Icons to arrive.
By the sounds of things, I need to step up my shoe game. I have yet to order any ICONs... I am going to be left in the dust... but I want some custom ICONs... and thus I have to wait.
I will have to fight the desire that consumes me... so hard.. they are like kryptonite.
