Lot of discussion internally about the proper socks to wear with khakis. So what would you wear with this combo? I thought it strange to wear black socks with this combo but others said black socks are pretty universal and can be worn with anything. What do you think? What would you have worn here?

I would have gone with black extreme low cuts, so mainly ankle showing with a touch of black.

The black socks seems sort of an odd combination to me.  I would go with some Driftwood TechSofs probably.

i'm not so much into stylin' but if i were, i'ld stay with the solid and match either the brown on the outside of the shoe or one of the colors in the pants. preferably the darker shade.

I can't say I know this for certain, but I have been seeing this for a long time.  I think when you're constantly on the road, it may just be easier for the guys to pack a bunch of socks that are the same color.  Black seems the most sensible.  Lately, I have been seeing a lot of guys opting for short white socks when playing in warmer weather (regardless of the pant/shoe colors).

We should ask our FJ players next time we are out on tour (likely the Deutsche Bank Championship).

A good rule of thumb is to match your socks with the primary color of your pants. But on the course, I think black socks is the safer move. I think all bets are off with shorts though.

I would have gone with black, low cut. They are a standard in my sock drawer and pretty much go with anything.

This is not the correct sock choice here for me.  What I would have liked to see here is a dark brown sock or at least a low cut white sock.  The white would have meshed well with the white on the shoes and made it stand out less.

Ask Mr. Style, he would know.  Maybe orange socks.

I love those pants too... who is that?

Sorry, I figured out it is  Pablo Larrazabal.

Your socks should match your pants, not your shoes.  If you were going to wear socks that show, dark brown would be the best option.  I would go with the no show socks.

I'm with those in favor of socks that match the pants -- that's classic style. Hard to do so with those plaid pants, though -- don't think I've seen an FJ tan that would match. Guess I'd say to opt for white no-shows.

Glad I don't have to worry so much about all that as a female! We've got a lot more freedom with socks!

Ewwww! Look at this photo; beautiful new FJ Icons, nice stylish pants, and black socks? What the heck... This guys should have Garanimals for crying out loud!

Seriously, with these pants and shoes, I would have some nice dark brown socks that would more closely match the trousers and brown in the shoe. Khaki is probably too light, and white, even the low cuts, would be too bright. I also get the sense that this player does not like the low cuts, so having brown is the best alternative.

This combo is beggin for a tan or brown sock.....not a fan of the black in this case.

I played in a golf league, and one time I had no clean white socks.Rather than go sockless(which I would do now) I chose to play in black socks.I was teased and called names(all in good fun) but the message was clear. The only time it's o.k. is when your over 70 years old.
