If I was with footjoy in the UK I would have headed over there in a truck full of waterproofs. Sad that they had to buy new ones in the merchant's tent.
I BELIEVE I READ SOMEWHERE THAT CORY PAVINS WIFE LISA PICKED OUT THE APPAREL FOR THE TEAM. I DIDN'T HEAR ABOUT WHO CHOSE THE BAGS.
BUNCH OF OH-OH'S(WHOOPS) I'M AFRAID
This could be a huge ooopppsss for both manufactures. It is every ones goal to be the official gear of the Ryder Cup... and with all the bad press do you think people are going into the store for this stuff, think not.
With all the different player contracts out their I'm sure it's difficult to find a neutral supplier, hence let the players use thier own gear with Team Logos...
Just another reason why FJ is the best!
Somebody broke into my car last night. The alarm went off and I guess it scared them away.
Fortunately they didn't get anything but they did leave 2 Ryder Cup jackets.

Really???
nathan.limbach: I also liked the idea presented by Tiger; to have each individual players company send blanks to be used as the team gear. The PGA and Ryder Cup already lets players choose their own shoes, gloves and layering outerwear. It would be a relatively easy fix and better than having to get used to gear they never use when it counts the most. I heard it was over $6500 USD to purchase the new raingear at retail from the merchandise tent. Truly upsetting that it came to this. On a side note, a lot of players were using the FJ Sports as opposed to ICONS except Poulters red and white Asymmetricals. Having to be on your feet for hours in that weather may have lead players to choose a lighter shoe.

Agreed on the long term comfort of the FJ sports, walked 36 in mine two weeks ago and feet felt excellent. The icons and asyms really catch the eye but the sports are excellent for comfort.
LOL @bholley. Did you file an insurance claim? Probably lessened the value of your vehicle if they left that junk.

I called "Homeland Security". They sent out a couple of guys in "Haz-Mat" suits. I must say the government guys looked better than our team did in the rain suits.
LMAO. Classic Bruce.
I WILL ADMIT HOWEVER, the black half-zip looks nice. :)

I thought they were good, except when they sewed the crest on it was not level.
Fashion is a pretty easy mark to make fun of, but these people took it to a whole new level.
Apology letter from Sun Mountain
Sun Mountain Sports is very sorry for the way our rain suits performed at the Ryder Cup. We will apologize to Corey & Lisa Pavin and the U.S. team at our earliest opportunity, and hope they will accept our heartfelt apology for the stress this must have caused. We are evaluating what happened. Our RainFlex, introduced in 2006, has been extensively and successfully used by over 150 tour players, the 2009 Presidents Cup team, the 2007 and 2009 Walker Cup teams and thousands of PGA professionals. We believed, as Corey must have, that our RainFlex, built with quiet, stretchable, breathable fabric would be an advantage to the U.S. team. That it was not is a great disappointment. It just was not enough for the torrential rains at Celtic Manor.Sincerely,Rick Reimers Owner, Sun Mountain Sports, Inc.

Why was an apology letter released via Facebook? Was it posted elsewhere (like their website or newspapers)?
They should also apologize for how ugly they were
like I've said before..when you look and feel your best, you'll play your best! FJ is the best and most of our team, as well as, the euros know that too!
