I'm okay with playing alone, but I get bored after 9 holes. I do enjoy playing as practice - you don't get to practice a lot of stuff like sidehill lies, downhill chips, etc, on the practice green and range.
Beej, it would be a pleasure to play with you sometime. I just don't like playing with someone who doesn't understand the game or force me to play a 6 hour round lol.
If I know you, I don't care what your handicap is but if I am "paired" with someone, it is frustrating.
thanx eric, although we are all spread out all over the place it is not likely that we would all be able to get together for a round, it would be kinda cool if we could.
6 hr round, not me, walked 18 this past weekend by myself, first one on the course, 3 hours tops. at 61 yrs of age, i am starting to feel it in the back of my thighs, but it still feels good to take that 3 1/2 mile walk.
I love playing wherever with whomever.
I play a lot in the mornings and often go out alone. I enjoy it because I play fast (usually walking around in 2.5 hours) and can spend time working on my game and not having to find other peoples errant tee shots.
I also get paired up quite often and for the most part enjoy this as well. I like golfers on a whole and enjoy talking to relative strangers about our shared passion.
I would love a set group but never have had the time during popular hours during the weekend.
I have recently started going out on my own, I seem to play better. I don't know if it's because I don't have someone keeping an eye on my shots if the go too far left or right. Maybe it's because I don't want to hold up someone else.
Plus it's a good way to network.
I get to talk to someone in between holes, because we all stand alone with club in hand anyway.
