Ricky leads The Memorial after round 2. Lots of ooohing and ahhhing and some snickering over his ensemble yesterday, but I thought it was awesome. And if you look at golf.com, the article states more than one of the ladies was drooling over this quickly rising star.
Please note.... white belt matching the white shoes. Stripes on the shoes compliment and match the color of the trousers and the shirt. And of course, the huge belt buckle. This guy is put together. While I can't pull off 100% of the look, I admire him for putting in an effort to have a well thought out ensemble, no matter if folks like it or make fun of it.
So be prepared on Sunday to see lots of the signature Pume Orange this weekend! Go Ricky...
this kids style is MONEY! I like it all except the hat over the ears.......
Round 3! Equally dashing. And since I can't spell, Sunday will bring out Puma orange...
Personally, I think he looks like a crayon from the 80s. Looks more like a melon than a golfer
He does find a way to pull off some serious combinations.
He is extremely smart, because wether it's his game or his apparel you are talking about him. If you look like everyone else you blend. He stands out and I think that's good for the game. I think we need to see more than the Stepford Golf apparel most everyone is used to. Besides TH, I think you might me able to pull of the same ensemble in UNC colors.
The tour is full of robots... I'm glad to see guys like Fowler and Maclroy making a change!!
Tar, I can't say I really like the style. Yes, EVERYTHING does match but when he goes to the orange it is just too much! Another thing, can't he get a hat that actually fits........
I would have to agree with your assessment of Mr. Fowler. The kid has it all together. I was sorry to see him fail in his attempt to win the Memorial this past Sunday. But he really put forth the effort and gave all a good indication of the talent he has and it won't be long before his name is up there in lights.
one more thing. Wouldnt a hat that fit be better? That things ginormous!
On TV - the Orange Hat doesn't really match the outfit or at least looks that way to me. Of course, that orange isn't really a HOKIE's Orange anyway.
GO HOKIES
WHAT A CLASSY YOUNG MAN.
IT IS NICE TO SEE ANYONE ENJOY THE THREADS ON THE COURSE BUT IT IS ESPECIALLY NICE TO SEE A YOUNG MAN SHOW THE CLASS THAT MR. FOWLER DOES.
WIN OR LOSE HE IS A CLASS ACT
My wife saw the Sunday orange outfit and asked if there was a prison team playing
As always, an interesting set of perspectives.
For those of you that commented on the hat... Please remember that Ricky grew up in SoCal, and his Dad is a Motocross racer. Ricky actually has a bit of the daredevil in him, and his Golf Magazine profile a few months back spoke of his love for motocross and skateboarding.
The large-ish hat, with a flat brim, is very "stylish & hip" to the SoCal crowd, and these fans love him for staying true to his roots. I'm much more a fan of a curved brim and a more fitted cap, but this is going to be his signature. With his game, I'm not going to diss him!
Hokie.... it's neither VT orange or the Tennessee (yick) orange. More reddish-orange for the Euro-crowd.... As Bholley's buddy Al Cervik says, "but hey, it looks good on you!"
I like the entire mix, think it is great to see a young guy who is confident in himself and knows how to show it. As TH said, the hat is a total California thing, and while it does look different it works for him (not for me, but glad he is doing it). the pleated khaki's and oversized white shirts are so common on tour that Ricky's look really livens up the course.
I have some Puma golf items (more muted than what Ricky wears) and think the style/quality is amazing, especially the shorts. Whould suggest all give them a try.
Keep it up.
In general he looks great and his clothes all match but I CANNOT STAND HIS HATS AND MOPPET HAIR...HE HAS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THAT...it looks aweful!!
