My wife loves to play, as do my 2 boys (ages 3 & 8) but she also understands that there are times where I want to play on my own or "with the guys"
I HAVE TRIED MANY TIMES BUT MY WIFE IS JUST NOT REALLY INTERESTED. WOULD BE NICE IF WE DID BUT I'LL JUST HAVE TO GO ON BEING ETERNALLY DISAPPOINTED.
i wish but my wife only has patience for a par 3 track.
Try as I might, my wife so far has not taken up the game and she has stated that she has no desire to do so. I wish it could be otherwise, but it is something that she says is not on her list of wants. Besides, she says that when I am out playing, she gets more things done.
I never played golf until I got married. Now I am so hooked that I go out and play by myself if my husband is out with his friends. Also I understand when he goes out to play with his buddies and will be the first person to say " Just go play". We love to play together and can't think of anything else that we would like to do on the weekends. All of our vacations are golfing vacations sometimes with a few 36's in there.
Teaching me the game was the most wonderful gift that he could have given me. I will have it all of my life. And gifts are easy because I would rather have a new driver than diamonds any day. He is also responsible for my Footjoy shoe addiction.
Maybe you guys should show your wives some of the shoes she could get.......
When I was married, I played golf with my husband every weekend, but as it turns out, I was the more serious golfer -- he was just there for the drinks!
I don't date anyone who doesn't play golf -- I know it limits the dating pool, but I can't imagine being with someone who doesn't love the game. I think it's terrific to be able to share it with your significant other.
As much as I have tried, my wife will not play. She loves the fashion and will drive with me or drive a beer cart for a tournament but won't pick up a club. Fortunately, she's outnumbered in the family, both my son and daughter play.
Been married close to 30 years, my wife doesn't even know I play golf, she thinks I'm in the National Guard.
I bought my wife a set of clubs and that lasted maybe 2 ranges sessions. She just didn't care for it.
It's really a good thing to me. It's my quite time that I get to enjoy. Yes I have friends that will play with me too but its more my time and not bothered by things.
I'm hoping my girls pick it up. My daughter likes to ride in cart and she already has a putter. So we will see.
at times i wish she knew how to play. it would be fun to enter co-ed tournaments and stuff like that. but most of the time, its nice she isn't on the course with me. thats MY time.
THE WIFE TOOK GROUP LESSONS FOR ABOUT TWO WEEKS.
WE THEN WENT OUT TO PLAY AND ON ABOUT THE 5TH HOLE A BIG LIGHTENING STORM BROKE OUT AND SHE HAS NEVER PLAYED AGAIN. THE KIDS HAD TOO MANY OTHER THINGS GOING
