Golfing Algarve - Portugal

  •

Last week I made my annual golf trip. I planned to go to Dubai but prefer to stay in Portugal and play in upgraded courses.

If you some time decide to come to this european corner, here are some sugestions:

    The Number #1 http://www.monte-rei.com/

http://www.oceanicogolf.com/ (not to loose Victoria, Old Course, Faldo and O'Connor Jr.)

    http://www.quintadaria.com/

    http://www.castromarimresort.com/

Why not making a FJA meeting here????

Luso good to have you back. Wondered where you went off to.  Portugal is not really known for being a golf mecca. Keep us informed of what is happening there.  Have been to Lisbon about 30 years ago. I just remember the Pastries.

I have not been yet, but I've heard that Portugal is fantastic and the golf is very underrated. Thanks for posting.

Algarve Coastline is suppose to have top quality golf....So will definitely check out the links you shared, Luso !  I hear Madeira Island and Lisbon Coast are terrific locales as well.  The Town of Vilamoura has a number of championship rated courses. However, they say the aweinspiring Lisbon Coast on the Atlantic is the emerging star.

Count me in for that future FJA meeting  !

You know a lot about golf in Portugal. I would say Lisbon Coast and Algarve are the terrific locales. In the Algarve of couse that Vilamoura is the golfers paradise. Besides living near Lisbon I'm member of a Vilamoura Club.

Madeira has just two courses on the main island and a third in the other island (Porto Santo to me the best of 3). They are very beautifull because of the landscape, over the sea.

This suggestion of doing a FJA meeting here is taking supporters. I can take care of all local contacts to that.  FJ staff would think about it to 2013?
