First time poster. Apologies if a post on this subject already exists...

I'm going to Kill Devil Hills, NC next week for family vacation. I will probably get to sneak out once to play a round and I was wondering where to go. I'm a 7-ish handicapper who loves links-style courses, but I'll play anywhere. Looking for something challenging yet playable. Since I'm only playing once, I don't mind spending $100 or more—if the course is truly worth it.

I'm thinking about Nags Head or Carolina club, but the websites for those course are terrible and don't really give you an idea of what the courses are like.

Your suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

You may want to try Sea Scape Golf Links in Kitty Hawk, 252-261-2158 I believe Bryan Sullivan is the Head Pro and owner.  Great player.

Check out the Wilmington Muni. A neat old Ross recently renovated.

Muni is about a 3 1/2 drive from the outer banks.  Lots of good courses up there and Muni is not that great to drive all that way.

    Sorry, my bad!
