I have two pairs of Contour shoes, both used one season, summer and winter, both leak from the seams, and unusable in heavy rain. They are both just over the years warranty and am disgusted to think these shoes are not cheap and are sold as waterproof with no redress to the seams splitting.

Are you in the US? Contour's here carry a two year water proof warranty.  Have you tried calling into our customer service team?

    Best,

I am in England, and yes eventually after a lot of research found the customer services here, I spoke to the returns department in Cambridge who asked me to send them along so they could check them out. They told me I could take them to the professionals and they would send them. I asked if I could drive there but they said they couldn't look at them while I waited. I am not sure what I am going to do now,all I know is I am disgusted with footjoys after sales service  and felt I had to record my feelings. Its not the waterproof guarantee for all beit one year, these shoes are not fit for purpose.

I must disagree. I find that the FJ Customer Service is second to none. And the product is by far the best in class. The 1 year that you get in the UK has a lot to do with the weather conditions and the fact that 95% of all the golf played there is on foot. Here in the US most of the golf is played in buggies. this puts a lot less wear and tear on the shoes. Our climate is also a LOT dryer. When you play a lot in the predominantly wet conditions your shoes take a real beating.

Most of us here have quite a few pair of golf shoes that we cycle through our play days. I personally do not wear the same pair of shoes more than every 4-5 days. this gives the leather plenty of time to fully dry out. I know when I play in Scotland I usually bring 5 pair of shoes for a 3-4 week trip. They get rotated during the stay as I play every day, rain or shine.

It is also very important that you take proper care of your shoes. don't leave them in your boot after a round, take then in the house. Wipe the outside off to remove dirt and moisture. Put cedar shoe trees in them to promote proper drying and for shape retention.

Depending on how often you play, 2 pair of golf shoes is just not enough in the UK. I have friends there that play 3-4 times a week and have found that by putting a 3rd or 4th pair of shoes in the rotation that the shoes last more than twice as long.

I currently have 20 pair of ICONs and a number of pair of Contours and older Classic Dry premier shoes from FootJoy. Some of my shoes are well over 10 years old and still look like they are almost new. These can have well over 100 rounds, mostly walking, on them.

    WELCOME TO THE FORUMS CHARLIE.

    SORRY FOR YOUR PROBLEMS.

I HAVE BEEN A FOOTJOY OWNER FOR MORE THAN 50 YEARS AND NEVER HAVE I HAD A PAIR LEAK.

AT THIS TIME I HAVE 6 PAIR OF CONTOURS, SOME 6-7 YEARS OLD.

I AM SURE THAT FOOTJOY WILL STAND BEHIND THEIR SHOES WARRANTY.

I HOPE YOU WILL STAY WITH THE COMMUNITY AND ADD  TO OUR CONVERSATIONS.

Dog, you are on the money. I once had a pair leak after about 6 years of use.  Figured I had gotten my money's worth.

I really don't know why I bothered to post a comment, I have been playing golf for more than 20 years and do NOT need a lesson on the care of shoes! I am so pleased that Americans don't play in the wet and have never had a problem, lucky you. I particularly like the idea that you feel I could lie about the condition of the shoes and the response from footjoy. Perhaps footjoy should rethink selling shoes in the UK as they are quite clearly not fit for purpose in bad weather!

If the shoes are under warranty the UK team should replace them.  I will forward your issues to our team overseas.

Welcome to the community ! I am sorry you seem to have not had the best experiance so far. I found this company does really stand behind it's product. i also live in Oregon and we easily have as much rain as where you live and I have to trust my shoes to keep my feet dry. I hope you will follow the process and see how it works out. I love my footjoys and I really love wearing them in bad weather.
