How do the new FJ Icon shoes compare to the Classic Dry Premier shoe in terms of comfort? It is a bit disappointing that I will not be able to get CDPs in the future, these are all I have worn for many years.

Well, this is a tough question to answer as everyone's feet are different but we can assure you that the new FJ ICON shoes have several new advancements that should give you a very comfortable and precise fit and ride in addition to the stability and performance you expect from premium FootJoy golf shoes. We actually borrowed some of the technology found in other best selling categories like SYNR-G (memory foam lined collar/tongue) and DryJoys (Dual OptiFlex Zones in the outsole) so FJ ICON truly represents the "best of the best" FootJoy technology. One sentiment that I can share from speaking with the Tour pros and from wearing them myself, is that FJ ICON is lighter and the CDP's, especially in wet conditions. But, like I said, everyone is different. All I can recommend is that you go to your nearest FJ dealer and try them on for yourself!  Please let us know if you would like more information/comparisons and we'll do our best to respond.

I would like to try them, but I tried to order a pair through my account and the quoted availability is 10/19.

Also, how do you deal with the shoe widths? I find an M very tight and a W much to loose.

Just spoke with Doug Robinson on our product development team and he recommends an 8.5W in FJ ICON. The W last is between an E and EE or, put another way, just slightly wider than E so should be a perfect fit for you.

We're working on that as well. There's been very high demand so far but we're doing our best to bring those ship dates back.

XW would be equivalent to a EEE in alpha sizing. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. I received my first pair of Icons and still trying to figure which size is best for me.  I got the 11 XW and they are a little too wide for me, shocker.  I have a pair of 10.5XW and hopefully they will be perfect.

The out of the box comfort on these is amazing.  I cant wait to test them out for a full round

They sound great, I just wish I could get a pair. I tried again this AM to order a pair but the estimated delivery is still Mid October.

There is actually limited availability as we build stock in all styles and sizes.  Totally depends on the style and size combo.  I feel the same way, most of the styles in my size (12M) are showing the same delivery date.

Which style are you going to go with?

I have tried to get any of these; 52054, 52047, or 52013 in size 8.5 M.

Looking forward to trying these as well.   For you guys that have the shoes, let me know how they feel once you've been able to test them for 18 holes.

Another question on fit - I can't wait to order up some Icons but here's my dilemma.

I have a pair of ReelFit's in 9M.  They tend to pinch/bind my little toe just slightly, but over the course of 18 holes they just aren't quite right and get a little uncomfortable, but the 9.5 felt too big.  I also have a couple pairs of Classics in 9D and do NOT have the same problem - is this just because of a difference in the lasts??  Will Icons fit more like the CDPs, or the Reelfits??  Thanks!

I certainly can't wait to get my hands on a pair of the ICON's either. 

+1 on the reviews from the guys that have played 18 in them.
