Remedies for scuff marks?

    I was practicing in my new ICONS yesterday and when I got to the car to take them off, I noticed I had a scuff on the toe.  I don't remember hitting anything but I did do some sand work so maybe that did it?

    Either way, does anyone know how to make it look better?  I wiped them off with a moist sponge but it didn't make the scuff look any better.  It's pretty small but I'd like it gone.  Any ideas?

    I can post a photo later tonight if it would help.


    ALSO, has anyone else had the issue of the brown/tan inside rubbing off on the tongue of the shoe (on white shoes)?  That's happened on one pair so far.  Fortunately, when the shoes are tied, you can't see it but I was just curious.  Thanks!

    Try putting some white vinegar or Spray & Wash on a soft cloth and dabbing/blotting the scuffs. It won't make the actual rough part disappear, but should take care of the black marks.

    guess i shouldn't golf / stumble out of the golf cart after having a few beers --- just kidding.

    Let me know if you have any suggestions how to get the brown rub stuff off(I thought it may have been dirt but after further exploration, it was indeed the inside of the shoe) or lessen that nasty scuff mark!

    The brown or discoloration on the inside is caused by the eyelet rubbing on the tongue of the shoe. You can try what I do and clean it with leather cleaner. This usually works for me and I have to do it every time after wearing the shoes. As to the scuff, as Golfchick said, getting the dirt out is key to removing the scuff. If the scuff is too deep, you may have to use a little white shoe polish to cover the actual mark. What I have done in the past on my white shoes is to take a very, very soft bristle brush with Leather cleaner to remove remaining black mark and then use the white  polish on that spot only.

    I have not had time to try and get it off yet.  It's been a busy weekend!  I will try this week and let you know the verdict.  I am really hoping it comes out, but luckily it is hidden when the shoe is tied so no big deal.

    The scuff will be worked on as well.  wish me luck.

    Once you get the scuff cleaned -  use the footjoy white cream (kiwi also has white shoe cream and other colors) and rub in with your finger or a nice soft cloth (I keep older pairs of low cut socks for this purpose ).  Let dry  -  then you can come back with a white shoe wax polish.  Make sure to let the cream dry -  maybe even over night.

    Then a light buff with soft cloth should take care of the problem. 

    I use a silicon shoe brighter on all shoes before I wear.  Just rub over entire shoe before play.

    This seems to help with cleaning the shoe after play.

    You know, I am so proud of y'all for cleaning your shoes. My girlfriends make fun of me for cleaning my shoes right after I play, putting in shoe trees and putting them in fabric bags before I put them away. Glad to hear I am not the only golfer who's shoe-OCD
