Replacing Your Softspikes? What Style - Q-Lok, Fasttwist etc..

  •

Ok, I am replacing my softspikes, which cleat style should I go with for my Icon's or SYNR-G?

  •

Is your question a choice of brand (SoftSpike, Champ, etc.) or of the type of attachment (small metal thread, Q-lock, etc.)?

  •

Both...however the primary purpose is the type of attachment.

    Thanks!

For attachment it would be the Tri-Lock system. This is a link to the Champ (Stinger) spike fitting page. http://www.champspikes.com/images/09spikeguide.pdf

For more info on why FJ choose these you can look at my "A behind the scenes vist to FootJoy" post here: http://www.footjoy.com/community/forums/t/1320.aspx

I currently  am using Black Widow as I have notbeen able to find the new cleatthat has come out with the Synr-G line. The Black Widow seems to be more like the metal spikes of old and hold up better for me. I found that the Soft Spike wears down too easily. Black widow is available in both screw type and Fast twist.haven't seen them in the Qlock. Hope this helps.

19hole, Thanks for the link to Champspikes. I just checked and they are available for all FJ shoes including Classics made from 1999 up. I just changed cleats two weeks  ago and won't for a while yet, but am going to try these. I understand that they do not get clogged with grass, etc, as easily as the other soft spikes on the market now. thanks again.Eagle3
