HSBC Tournament in Japan

Anyone watching this late at night?  For us in the midwest this is on live on the Golf Channel but not till 11:00pm.

In catching up today on the Golf Channel news...looks like a great leaderboard...Woods, Mickelson, Watney and 2 other Americans not to mention a host of big names near the top.

Just finished watching it down here. Woods & Watney lead at 10 under, Michaelson @ 9 under and Poulter @ 4 under. It's on the golf channel down here at 1100 AM.

I may have made a mistake, as what I watched may have been rerun. Tonight at 9:00 PM the tournament was on for the 3rd round. Still, it did make for good watching.

Just watched replay of last few holes from last night, tonights final should be a good one with Mickelson 2 up on Woods going into final round.

  •

Watched the tourney last night. Phil leads by two over Tiger and Watney. Now is the question. Are they going to continue with the threesome format or return to the twosome??  Would be great either way to see Phil and Tiger paired up, regardless of Watney joining in. Should be good tonight.

    Go Phil!

    Pulling for my man...

  •

Hey Tar Heel, is Mickelson your man because he's left handed?

How do you feel about Weir?

I'm more a fan of Weir than Mickelson...never have been a Mickelson fan

I'd like to see a great finish to this tournament, getting ready to watch in about 5 minutes as it is almost 10:00pm Eastern time right now.

Phil really hung one to win this one. Els and McElroy gave Phil a scare at times, but he hung in there to win. Great tournament with plenty of excitement in the last round. Tiger couldn't handle all the attention and if you watched closely, he really became iritated with the onlookers.

    Hey Mondo.

Yup, I like Phil because he's left handed and he plays like my next favorite pro; Greg Norman. I like players that go after it and take risks, knowing there could be disaster. Phil is just nuts sometimes, but he just goes for it and apologizes later. Weirsy is a great player, but I guess I never got all jazzed for him. Nice guy.

My next favorite players are IJP and Sean O'Hair. Like the way they play and their attitudes.

I watched the first couple of hours last night but couldn't keep my eyes open (and not because it was boring!) so I DVR'd the rest and watched the ending this morning.

Amazing how Tiger was so out of it on the front nine, then like he turned on a switch, he began to make birdies, but alas, too little too late.

Also amazing, but amazingly awful, was Ernie Els' 3-wood 2nd shot on 18. He was in position to nail it down with a birdie.

I'm a Weir fan too, mainly because I'm Canadian, eh!

Not exactly the finish I expected, never thought I'd see a collapse by Tiger but he can't always be on the top of his game.

Would have been a great story to see Ernie win, but to no avail.

I was able to watch it live last night.  Got in around 1:00 AM CST and they were on the last couple holes.  Phil's wiff was pretty crazy, for a man with such a good short game, I was very surprised to see him go under the ball on the fluffy lie, oh well he still closed the deal.  It was unfortunate to see TW fall out of contention but I like Ernie and it was a great tournament.

Also, the tournament is in China! =)

    Mondo,

This tournamanet is from Shanghai China, not Japan.
