USA should run away with this thing.

Unless something really goes haywire, I expect that the USA team will win. They have more talent than the European team in my estimation.

  •

if they were to lose it will be quite a shocker and quite a huge upset in my eyes.  the internationals don't have a strong team and the US has a team that would envy any Ryder Cup team.

  •

I do think there will be an issue.

  •

USA should win the Presidents Cup. They must perform as a team and not become over confident . If we lose, I'm sure there will be many disappointed golf fans out there. Go USA!!

  •

Is it me or does it seem like there is a lack of interest in the Presidents Cup?  Seems like there was more excitement and buildup to the FedEx cup.

  •

I'm in agreement with you nick.  Even the golf channel is kind of lax on the entire topic.  I think everyone, players included are a little worn out.

    First day thoughts???

In the NY area, golf channel has 6 hrs of coverage on both Thur & Fri and NBC has about the same on Sat & Sun. I don't know how many people will be watching golf, with college & pro football on TV, but it's there if we want too.

Through 2 days, its alot closer than I expected...

    What does everyone else think???

  •

Definitely agree with you Nick. Even the golf channel people are sort of lackluster about the Cup. And the US is not doing as well as they hoped. Example, Cink & Glover. They can't seem to get it together. Maybe starting today, Sat., the US can get something going with the one-on-one scenario.

They did a good job on Sat. and now we're down to the final day. No line-up yet, but the chances are looking good for the USA team. It will be interesting to see who plays who on Sunday. I am really interested to see who Stricker plays as he looks as though he has a fire lit under him.

  •

What did everyone think of the performances by Stricker and Mickelson? They both were outstanding and seemed to be the leaders on Sat.

Just got the line-up for Sun.

Villegas vs Mayhan; Scott vs Cink; Weir vs Leonard; Allenby vs Kim; Ogilvy vs; Stricker; Els vs OHair; Ishikawa vs Perry; Clark vs Johnson; Yang vs Woods; Singh vs Glover; Goosen vs Mickelson; Cabrera vs Furyk

Some very iffy matchups. But will there be a Tiger revenge? Today should be very, very interesting.

Well, the US team won again. Did they do it in style? They may not have , but there were some fantastic moments; Mickelson and his game really came on; Stricker lit up the boards with Tiger and Strickers putter couldn't be beat; OHair beating Els on Sunday; Mayhan finally coming thru on Sunday; Cink comes back to life and wins hadily; Kim again shows he plays well under pressure; and then the disapointments. I don't know what happened to Furyk, Johnson and Perry, they seemed lackluster in their performances.

But we won and in 2 years we go down under and try to win again.
