I am always amazed that with the huge leaps in technology that the scores today aren't significantly better.
The courses were much shorter then. It has always been a short game game anyway.. The days of old when woods were wood.
I am sure most here know but just in case you didn't Harry Vardon had 6 open wins. James Braid and J.H. Taylor each had 5 wins.
