Watched Jin Jeong defeat Ross Fisher in a playoff this morning in the inaugural Pertha International in Australia and earn his Europian tour card giving him a two year exemption.  Wooho, no tour school.  Interesting not seeing a caddy carrying a Titleist tour bag with a name on it, but a carry Titleist bag.  He was playing Titleist clubs and wearing the Titleist tour hat.  Maybe he will pickup a sponsorship now that he has earned his card and become a FJ member as well.  Congratulations to the Europian tours newest member.  Titleist took down another swooth......

Great tournament down under. I am always interested in seeing the evolution of sponsorship with the tour players.

Jeong came to Melbourne from South Korea as a 16 year old and made a big impression immediately and ended up ranked #1 amateur in the world rankings before turning pro.

He said that he had been struggling a bit since turning pro and was headed back to Q-School again for both Europe and Asia before his timely win.

He played great and made some great putts coming in (after 4 putting the first hole in the final round) so was fantastic to see him win.

With two and change years exemption to Europe and 1/3 $mil in the kitty this is a huge result for him and hopefully he can go on from here.
