Will you watch the matches? How many of us guys (be honest here!) enjoy watching the ladies play?

I enjoy the LPGA tour events. I think that they show that golfers with average length can shoot some great scores. The shotmaking is pretty good and I think more of us could learn something from wathing how the women get around a course.

    OK, let the bashing begin.....

I agree with you.  I think most amateur men players could learn a lot by watching the LPGA.  Their games are closer to how I play than the PGA Tour players.  That's why I admire guys like Corey Pavin. There's no way that I'm suddenly going to start hitting it 300+ yards, so I have to be better at managing the golf course.

Unfortunately, I do not watch much of LPGA golf.  I respect it and agree that they are amazing athletes but for some reason, I stick to PGA/European Tour golf.  Another thing is, you don't see much for LPGA on the TV when there is a PGA event going on.  I have been watching some of the Solheim Cup pre-game stuff and it has been interesting.

A lot of the time, I watch highlights therefore, if the LPGA girls are on there, I will see it but if not, I don't know what's going on with their tour.  I generally only watch a lot of the big PGA tournaments and Sunday if it is a good tournament, otherwise I stick to Golf Channel highlights and recaps.

I'll probably catch the highlights on the golf channel around midnight.  Since Im only 18 I usually stay out to midnight or later so usually I turn on the golf channel before I go to sleep to catch up on whats going.  The LPGA is enjoying to watch because we can all learn alot from them as well.

Thanks memphis, I thought that I would be pretty much alone on this one!

My DVR is set and I will be watching.  I am also in agreement with you 19th, the ladies play a game that we can relate to.  We have a charity event at our course every year and they let members caddy.  I have always learned more caddying for the ladies.

    19,

Do you watch the tournament or are you a highlights person like some of the other posters here?  I watched soem of the interviews last night and it was a breath of fresh air, but it seemed like all the talk was focused on Michelle Wie.

It all depends on my playing schedule. If I am home, I watch the event. If I am on the course, I usually get the highlights. If it is an event like the Women's Open (British) I will put it on DVR.

I agree that there is a little too much hype foe Wie. What has she won? Definately a good player, but there are a lot beter ones on tour.

I love watching the ladies play golf.  I am bummed that there are not more televised events.  There is nothing like watching sexy women hit the ball farther then I can.  A lot of those ladies have tremendous talent and they are easy on the eyes.  I have the DVR setup already to record all of the Solheim coverage.  The matches in 2007 were outstanding especially when Dottie Pepper started running her mouth.

I am so happy so see that there are other guys willing to admit that they enjoy watching the ladies play. I thought I was pretty much alone on this one!

19th hole, well done sir. This is a great question, and I applaud you stepping out here and asking.

I will watch all the matches, and root just as hard for our women as I do during the Ryder Cup and the President's Cup. The women play a great game and I really enjoy seeing them play. I enjoy good golf, no matter who is holding the club.

    Go USA!

I caught a little bit of the action this morning.  It looks like this could be a pretty tight match this time around.  At least until Sunday singles.

I unfortunately had to decline some passes to the matches this weekend. I have my son watch the women play when they are on TV, which is not very often. I really think they play a game that is more familiar to the average golfer. Fairways and greens. As he grows up, the course strategies that he has learned watching the ladies will hopefully come in handy as he continues to get longer off the tee.

I watch most of the LPGA tournaments, even through there are not enough of them televised. They are also losing a lot of sponsors. I volunteer at golf tournaments in my area,  the LPGA Sybase Classic, in New Jersey, is one of my favorites. Smaller crowds, can get a closer look at players swing. These Girls Rock !

Saturday morning four-ball has been some great golf.  Lots of birdies being made.
