pros such as Bud Cauley will receive new prototype golf balls this week in their locker. A surprise for 2013?.. the difference, Anybody know?

Threres a few threads on the new ball and member here and across the country have gotten them for trial runs!

Once again I was left of the test list. There are a few who received the test balls that are flipping them on ebay if you want them badly enough.

  •

I'm guessing the pros get the same version of the ball they are currently playing?

  •

I do not think they are getting the red numbered test ball I received.  It is not better than the current ProV1X.

Tim, I also received test balls, I didn't like them as well as the current ProV1

Do they send out "control" balls? "Rocks" so everyone doesn't say "I loved the ball" when actually it's intended to be hit on a dirving range.

I just got mine. Of course the weather decided to crap out on me...

Are they the "New" X's ?

  •

Mine came in the mail today.  Can't wait to get out on a course to give them a good test, as recommended by Titleist.  Will probably have to play a second round one day this week to do so.

GREAT question.  You know all the fan boys would just jump all over the chance to rave about them.  From what I've read on here and a few other sites, the consensus is that most prefer the current Pro V1.

Just got mine in the mail. They physically look and feel the same as the current ProV1. Same dimple pattern, marking etc. Can't wait to play the "test" balls side by side with my ProV1 Thursday/Friday when it dries up a bit. I joked with TT about the control balls being Top Flites. I couldn't say if Titleist adds control samples, but many companies do for point of reference. Any input Staffers? Perhaps the new ball has a minor change in layer thickness, or chemical/molecular composition?

Every so often they send out test balls and from others I have read that the new ball doesn't measure up to previous issues. Sometimes improvement doesn't hit the home run that they hope for.

I got a sleeve of balls in the mail yesterday, the feel a bit firmer to the touch than the Xs I am playing now. I will be taking them in next couple weeks when the weather allows.

I got mine and was told the red number was ProV1x and to me they were about the same as my current x model although I did seem to hit them lower
