Dreamflight & IJP

  •

Did anyone see the piece on Golf Central last night about Ian Poulter and Dreamflight, an organization that flew 192 ill and disabled kids from the UK to Disney World for a week.

When an athlete makes a ton of money and wants to give back, it's easy to just write a check, but to do what IJP did - get involved and really make an impact on the lives of these kids - is remarkable.

He probably got as much out of it as the kids did.

Hats off to IJP and all the other volunteers involved in Dreamflight!

That's a great story. It's amazing how the PGA tour helps on all these causes and the more high profile money hungry sports get all the publicity.

Watched the clip this morning from IJP's twitter stream. Have to say that this is a great charity, and I had a bit of a tear in my eye watching it. Fantastic gesture from all involved.

In all of the other sports, I can't think  of other players who give of themselves like the Pro golfers. While the others seem to get involved thru their teams, and in some instances on their own, the Pro golfers seem to take on tremendous responsibilities like IJP has done and do so wihtout a lot of fanfare. I think that is why I am such a supporter of the game and of the Pros. And congratulations to IJP for what he is accomplishing. I watched it and what a thrillit must have been to do that for those kids.

thanx for the link feet, followed it it worked sent it on to others who i know will enjoy it.

let me add my hats off to all those who do, as ian and others in the golf world do in helping those less fortunate.  it's people who need to help people and we can and should do our little part.

I saw it on the golf channel as well and I thought it was a great story and a very generous act.  The joy he brought those children will be with them forever and that makes all the difference in their lives.  He provided them with an opportunity they probably never could have had and that takes a lot.  The kindness he has show and the rest of the PGA has shown will definitely influence others.

    Well done!
