Chambers Bay - Future US Open venue

The US Open is just around the corner - Merion epitomizes the classic old-style course  - Not lengthy but defended well with strong greens and very creative and challenging routing.

Chambers Bay is a relatively new course (opened in 2007) but clearly will be a course worthy of hosting the USGA's top event. Here are photos of Chambers Bay, fashioned out of an old sand and gravel quarry operation, and a description of the course play authored by the Itinerant Golfer, a golfer on a quest to play the top 100 courses in America..

They are still working out some issues with the greens not rolling as fast as they should. parking will be a nightmare. Overall the course should play long and be great for TV.

This course is going to look AWESOME on TV.
