Was looking for some tips or advice to get me through the PAT? Looking to take it this spring. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

First, welcome to the Footjoy community.

For a PAT just try and play to your strengths, you will likely be nervous so focus on what you do best. If you driver is the club you hit best then do so, if you roll the rock well make sure you give your-self the chance to make a few. I hear so much after rounds that players say I didn't give myself a chance to use my "Money club" and when I asked how they planned to give themselves chances to use that club they have no response.

Can you please explain what PAT stands for?  I just can't figure it out....

    Player Ability Test

  •

Is that part of being a teaching pro ?

  •

What does the test consist of?  Is it self-administered or is it part of becoming a teaching pro?

It is a 36 hole, single day medal play event. To "Pass" you need to shoot the target score or better. Don't do it unless you are serious about enrolling in the PGA PGM (Apprentice) Program. Also,, if you game is not in control it is not as easly  as it sounds. Years ago when I played, out of 70 players only 3 of us passed!

  •

by doing this, do you lose your amateur status?  Is there a specific timeframe where you need to finish the program?  Thanks for all of the information.  You have my mind working now...

    What did you fire Rick?

Mike, I was the medalist at 5 over.

My club hosted one a couple of years ago. Played a practice round with a couple of fellows and they were a mess about it. Tried to help them by showing them the angles and the places to play to. Didn't do any good, neither made it but they were a couple of nice guys hope they hung in there and made it the next time.
