Greetings all, as you may have seen in the "COMMUNITY EMAILS TO BE TURNED ON MONDAY 10/15/12" thread, with Devin's permission, we have now attempted to unsubscribe everyone from all posts and forums. We did this because with the new platform, the logic of sending emails had changed and was filling everyone's inboxes. So, we removed all subscriptions so everyone can get a fresh start and make subscription decisions based on how things work now.
Most Important: Subscribing to a Forum will subscribe you to EVERY POST in that Forum, not just new Threads (which is how it used to work). This is a change to the software that runs the community and we do not yet know if we can change that behavior. So for now, think carefully before subscribing to a Forum.
If you are subscribed to a Forum and want to turn off emails for particular threads, you need to click on the "Stop receiving emails on this subject" link *in the email*. Clicking on the unsubscribe link at the top of the Thread doesn't work. Again, this appears to be how the software works. It is NOT intuitive but we do not yet know if we can change it.
If you subscribe to a Forum and want to unsubscribe from a Forum, the link at the top of the Forum page should work.
If you subscribe to a Thread and want to unsubscribe from the Thread, the link at the top of the Thread page should work.
AMBASSADORS, we are still trying to figure out why your subscription links at the top of Thread pages are not showing. More on that soon.
There are options in the administration area where we can set your account to NEVER receive post notifications, but you can still receive emails for Friend Requests, Moderation and Private Messages. If you are interested in that, let us know.
Community email subscriptions are completely separate from your FootJoy.com opt-in for emails, so do not opt-out in your profile in hopes that you will not get community emails. It won't work and you will only miss out on those contest opportunities, product announcements and tour insights.
Again, our apologies for all the email this week. We are doing our utmost to get emails to a point where they enhance the community rather than detract from it. Thank you for your continued patience in this.
Best,
-Denise
