I was playing this New Year’s Eve by myself. I was walking alone down the fairway the sun was falling and the shadows were quickly stretching out over the course. I thought back to the first time almost 50 years ago I set foot on a golf course as a 12 year old caddy. I remembered all the people I had met, the places I had traveled to play golf, and all the wonderful memories. After all this time I thought it was odd just me, my clubs and my memories no one else around. As I stood on the last tee breathing in the cool winter air I thought geez I sure have spent a butt load of money on this game.

    Life is not about ME.

Last year my wife of 45 years and who plays around in the 30's for a handicap was out playing with me and hit a drive at our home course, Ould Newbury.  The 6th hole is about 120 yards uphill and her drive went in the cup for a hole one and we never say it. Spent a couple minutes looking around untill she looked in the cup for the surprise of her life.

After 67 years looking out for others she was finally rewarded.

My most memorable walk ever taken on the golf course was the first time I broke 80.  It was fun to play well and a thrill to sink a 20 footer on the 18th green for my best score.  I'll always remember that round.

Playing in a member/member 2 day tournament with my friend, he being a 24 handicapper and me being a 18 handicapper, I played "out of my mind" golf for the 2 rounds, shooting a 78, followed by a 75. We won the tournament by 1 stroke. We won a few bucks but it didn't matter if we lost as I proved to myself that it was quite possible for me to play great golf. I walked quite a bit on that weekend but I don't think my feet were touching the ground most of the time. What a great game!

The stories don't win it, the winners are drawn at random.

However, we are all winners because we wear FootJoy golf shoes!

My son and I took 2nd net in our annual Labor Day 2 0f 4 day member/member. We shot 130, he and I shot identical 65 net scores for 2 days.

Probably the most memorable walk was about this time last year when I broke 80 for the first time.  I was playing my home course with my Dad (who introduced me to the game), and we both played well on the front.  On the back nine, I played the most "boring" 9 holes of golf I think I've ever played.  By that, I hit fairways, greens, and 1-2 putts on almost every hole (My goal is always to play "boring" golf...trying to hit a 30 yard hook from behind a tree 8 yards out gets old); ended up with bogey on 10 and par on the remainder of the holes to shoot 78.  Was great to break 80 on a beautiful course with the person who introduced me to the game.

And as always, thanks for the opportunity FootJoy!!!

I got to compete in the McGladrey Team Championship at Pinehurst in October, 2009.  Walking #2 with a caddie and my teammates, one of whom recently passed away, has to be my most memorable walk on a golf course. A great walking course and good friends.

I was on that course many times in the early 80's, unfortunately it was not during daylight and I was not playing golf.  I was in the Corps and that was one of the places we were taken as a group for punishment.  We had to swim around in a shallow pond and find golf balls for the upperclassmen.  Gig'em.

The most memorable walk I've ever had was with my Grandfather when I was only 8 years old.  My Grandfather is the person who taught me how to play this game, and he made me work hard to earn my right to put my peg in the ground.  As a youth I always looked up to my Grandpa.  He wouldn't let me out on the course unless I passed his test.

In order to play a 'real course' I had to hit 10 consecutive shots over 100 yards and sink 10 puts in a row.  Many times I hit 9 shots over the flag only to come up short on the 10th, or I would hit 10 great shots and miss my 10th putt.  My Grandfather knew it hurt to fail, but the lessons would last a life time.

I'll always remember the moment when I hit that 10th putt and earned the right to take the walk with my Pop.  After that putt dropped, my Grandfather smiled and said "our tee time is in 15 minuets."  Striding up to that first tee made me feel like I was on tour.  I'll always remember that walk.  The course was so surreal and so big.  There were shots I'd never encountered and couldn't wait to master.  I remember the chatter of my clubs as I strolled the fairways with my Grandpa as we shared an ear to ear girn the whole round.

He knew I'd been trying to play a 'real course' for so long, and I think we both lived a dream on that walk.  Although we've shared many walks since, that one was special and will live with me forever.  It was the beginning of my love affair with the game, and something I'll always be thankful for.  It's the first and most memorable walk I've ever had.

I was lucky enough to try both out this Wed at the "Shoe Box".  Both were great shoes and felt comfy to say the least.  I can see why so many tour players have moved to them.

Another quality product about to be released...

Congrats to whoever wins.  You will NOT be dissappointed!!!
