Scott Cameron putters

Scott Cameron putters

  •

For those of you have have them, what kind do you have/prefer and WHY do you think they are better than, say, Odyssey black series?

  •

I have a SC Tour Newport 2 GSS (German Stainless Steel).  It's by far the nicest and best feeling putter I have used.  About 5 years ago I had an Odyssey White Hot something or another and once I got my first SC (not the GSS) I fell in love.  Once I got the NP2 GSS, I knew it was something special.  I couldn't imagine switching out this putter.

The feel is exceptional, the balance and look are bar none.  It's one those things you have to use to know the full extent.

Do you use SC or are you contemplating it and wondering what others have to say?

I currently play the RED-X, the first series not the new one, I also have a Studio Stainless Newport 2, Bullseye and a Phantom mallet. I love them all and especially the Newport but my time on the course has taken a dip in the last few years so I need a little more alignment aid.

I prefer the Cameron putter because the feel and face balance, if I balance the club on one finger the club face will look to the sky so you know if you pull a putt, it was not the clubs fault. I have tried may other putters on the practice green but the subtle response from the face of the
Cameron is like no other, you KNOW if you toed it or hit it pure because these clubs don't like anything but sweet spot contact. If you are not confident with the flat stick, Cameron may not be the best club for the bag

I have a variety of Scotty Cameron putters, primarily I prefer the face balanced models like Futura, Kombi, Newport Long Neck, Newport 2.7, Squareback, Del Mar 2 Long Neck among a few.  Odyssey makes nice putters however I enjoy just the SC Line....IMHO

Im a Newport guy.  I mess around with other designs, such as a Detour or Kombi, but always come back to some sort of Newport.  Scotty has a good eye and knows how to make putters look good and play good also.  The lines and workmanship on Scotty's putters is far better in my opinion than anyone elses and thats what makes them as good as they are.  Im not saying there are other good putters out there but I think Scotty has rasied the bar and others are following him.

It all comes down to feel.  As far as I'm concerned, the overall balance, weight and feel of the putter are the absolute best I've ever found.  All those things help inspire confidence and we all know that goes a long way on the greens!

I have a Pro Platinum, Sonoma Two. Sometimes I switch back and forth between this and a Ping Anser.

I'm sure it's all in my head, but to me they feel different, depending on the conditions greens.

I'm thinking of having my Sonoma, refurbished at SC.

I just took the plunge with a Scotty Cameron Fastback 1, should be here Thursday.  Can't wait!

  •

I may experiment with weight and finishes, but I stick with a Newport 2 head.

  •

    I have 3 Laguna two's.

1 I play with and another is a backup. The 3rd is weighted more for slower times of year on the greens.

  •

I have a SC Newport 2 Pro Platnium and a SC Newport 2 Studio Select,  SCs in comparrison to others have superior balance and feel.

  •

    My current line up:

Newport 2.5 Studio Stainless in black oxide finish

Newport Pro Platinum in black oxide finish

Newport 2 Pro Platinum with custom paint fill

    Wish list...California Del Mar

    I have 2:

Studio Stainless Newport II and a Studio Design 5.0.

My gamer is the Studio Design, because I prefer a mallet style, and this one really fits my eye. The other reason is the black mist finish on it. It just looks so unique, and I get so many compliments on it, that there is no way I'm changing.

I have used a variety of Odyssey putters in my early years. While I like them, the SC product is just too good to be true, and Scotty is off the hook. His passion rubs off on me, and I feel more confident because of it.

i have used an odyssey for almost all my life, and most recently used the 2ball tour for a while. i liked it, but like everyone says, the cameron just has a much better feel to it. i use a studio select now, but absolutely love the new kombi. i think that is the best putter on the market right now.
