Your putting grip?

Your putting grip?

I have been a longtime cross-handed putter, get a lot better feel and no wrist break.  It has made putting one of the strongest parts of my game.

After reading Stan Utley's book The Art of Putting I switched to his grip.  Ever since, my putting has improved.  For me his method to approaching putting really works.

Started putting cross handed myself about 5 years ago and haven't looked back.

Best thing I could have done for my game.  I feel more confident and consistent and definitely have no regrets.

Standard grip for me, I just don't feel comfortable with the left hand low.

  •

I use the regular putting grip, with one modification. I separate my hands, I don't overlap.

  •

I use a standard grip with a double overlap, seems to work great, keeps my hands soft and no wrists.

  •

standard grip for me, just feels the most comfortable.

I agree with 19hole. I tried the other with left low and couldn't adapt to it. Now am taking my glove off with better feel and a softer grip. So far, doing better.

I use the standard grip with the reverse overlap, I got it back when I first read TW's "How I Play Golf" book and have loved it since.  Used to have the standard grip with the normal overlap.  I think it is a mental thing but it works.  Haven't 3 putted in about 6 rounds.

Hadn't read the book, but will try the reverse. Hope it works as well for me. Will let you know.

I am a left handed golfer and put cross handed with right hand low. I went to this way after using a traditional grip for the first 4 years of play, but never really feeling confident. This grip changed the way I stroke the ball, and I have never looked back.

Kelly, Tried that new grip. It seems to be better and I am working on getting adjusted to it. I was using a standard grip. I used it yesterday and putting was better, but still  needs some adjusting. Thanks for the tip

Agree with you Tar Heel -- didn't know you were a lefty as I am -- right hand low is the way to go

As a fellow lefty I will give this a shot when I play today. Outting on Friday was nasty so anything that can change my mondset standing over the ball is a good think at this point. May have to turn in my putter for a pool stick!

A better tip is to actually sit down and take some time to read the How I Play Golf book.  Fantastic read and it helps you with every aspect of golf from grip and stance to putting and full swing.

Doesn't hurt it's written by the world's #1 golfer either.
