Golf Trips

Myself and 15 other guys take a trip twice a year to some location and play golf for 4 or 5 days, we've been all over, Vegas, Myrtle Beach, Jacksonville, ect.,   My question is how many of you all take similar trips, where have you been and what places and courses have you liked and what trips would you recommend?

I would strongly suggest Hilton Head. Plenty of great courses to choose from and an equal number of great spots to hang out at night! My wife and I actually got married down there on Daufuskie Island which is just across from Harbour Town. Daufuskie has three courses of it's own, including the ultra-private Haig Point. You can actually get the water shuttle right at the famous lighthouse which makes it a great day trip. Hilton Head would be a great trip if you haven't already done it.

The Destin, FL area is a good spot for a golf trip.  It has a ton of really good courses, including a few that are used for PGA Tour Q school.

Another good trip is the Robert Trent Jones golf trail in AL.  You have to plan and travel the trail a bit, but good courses.

That sounds like a good possiblity, will have to look into that, thanks Chris

Second on Hilton Head. The Phoenix area is also wonderful especially if you can hit the early part of their off season (late May). Courses not crowded golf rates really reduced check out the "Troon Golf" site. They manage a lot of great courses in that area.

Took one several years ago with good friends and played At Medinah Country Club and Cantigny. Played Medianah on Wednesday and Cantigny on Thursday. Both were great courses and we had a lot of fun. Since then 2 of the boys are no longer playing and we have moved away from the guys. I will never forget those two days.

I think I'm kind of lucky living here in Michigan being able to hop in my car, drive a few hours north and play some of Northern Michigans finest courses.

There are places like Boyne Mountain and Boyne Highlands (between them there are at least 7 resort type courses), Grand Traverse Resort (both The Legend and The Bear) are in this area.  Not to mention Arcadia Bluffs and Crystal Mountain

Any of the northern resorts are worth the trip.

I've heard about some great places besides Bandon in Oregon.  Has anyone else?
