Storing golf gloves or grips for better shelf life

Storing golf gloves or grips for better shelf life

  •

I've found that when storing my extra golf grips or gloves if I put them into one of those "rubber maid" type plastic containers with the lid locked tight these products seem to last.

Anyone out there with any other storage ideas that they can share with us?

I keep mine, when I do store them, in a leather bag that has been heavily treated with leather conditioner. They stay very pliable and never get stiff or moldy. As to the grips, I usually don't keep extras around as I change grips about twice a year being as I am able to golf year round. Half the time up here in the midwest and during the winter months down in Texas. By the way, this year has been one of the wettest and coolest in long while and there are timees when it is so wet we have heard someone calling for Noah.

I keep 6 gloves at a time and rotate them being careful not to let them get too sweaty. After I play I put them back in the plastic envelope in which they came.

This is a good point, with my Titleist Players Gloves I generally rotate them throughout a round letting them air dry before I place them back into the plastic sleeve they came in.   This seems to prolong the life of the glove and help my on course performance as well.

I store the gloves in a box in their original packaging in my closet and same with the grips.  I have about 2 unopened gloves in my bag at a time and then two opened ones in the bag.

I don't really do anything special because the grips are durable and made to be able to handle all different conditions so I don't think leaving them in the closet in room temperature will hurt them, same with gloves.

I don't have any special way to store gloves, just in the package they come in. I get them by the dozen and that is about 6 - 10 weeks worth. I don't think that you will notice any change in that time period. At least I don't.

Grips just get kept in a box in the closet. I get them 100 at a time, and that is a full seasons worth. The ones in the shop stay fresh for the full season here  in the Northeast without any issues.

I just keep them in the package I bought them in either in my locker or my bag.
