I grew up playing golf. I took a few years off during college, but came back to the game in full force about 5 years ago. I am officially a golf junky. I grew up playing at a country club, but decided not to join a club as an adult. I am married with two young boys and our financial priorities did not include monthly dues. Not a huge deal with services like GolfNow, etc. However, this Spring my wife and I rode through a local club. We were surprised by the amenities and the price and we joined. Unbelievable, right? One day I'm playing the local "muni" and the next my family and I are country club members. However, what I am most thankful for is something I didn't even realize prior to joining. Being a member is giving me the opportunity to pass the game along to my sons. My oldest is 5 and we use Monday evenings as daddy-son golf outings. The time together is priceless. I love seeing the big, genuine smile on his face every time he pops the ball down the fairway. I am very lucky.
