Favorite golf book and/or movie

Favorite book is Harvey Penick's "Little Red Book". I just find myself reading it over and over and shocked at how some of his teachings from 20 or 30 years ago are still solid information today.

I think Bagger Vance is up toward the top of my golf movies. I love Caddy Shack,  but it is not really about golf as much as it is about life and times of little Timmy Noonan and Judge Smails. (I know it's Danny).

Tin Cup has been on the tube a lot lately and I find myself watching that every time it's on.

Can't go wrong with Ben Hogan's Five Lessons: The Modern Fundamentals of Golf.  Great book by a guy that knew a thing or two about the golf swing.

Dead Solid Perfect is a pretty good golf movie - to go along with the others you mentioned.

    For me:

    Book: anything by Bobby Jones

Film: Right now I would have to say Tin Cup, but Caddy Shack always makes me laugh

My favorite book would have to be The Match.

    My favorite movie is Caddyshack!

I agree with the book The Match, but I'm torn between Caddy Shack because of the laughs and Tin Cup.

favorite book - i have a copy of tommy armour's "how to play your best golf all the time" alot of the material is outdated (such as when it says the average player could get a respectable distance of 140 yards from his 4 iron), but the principles laid out are mostly spot on.  i received it from my neighbor after he passed away along with his backup set of clubs in 1996.  that's when i began playing golf again.

i liked the game as a kid, layed off of it while in the service but now absolutely love the game. i think it's more than the content that makes that book my favorite.  i can't say thanx for his passing, but for the reintroduction to golf i'll be thankful to norm till the day i pass.

Movie is easy, Caddyshack.  Book is tough.  I have over one-hundred golf books.  Very few books about instruction, however, Ben Hogans Five Lessons is one of my favorites.  I also really like Every Shot I take, Final Rounds, A Good Walk Spoiled, Two Years in St Andrews ,Cinderella Story.  I guess the list could go on and on.
