I play ProV1, year round here in California even though I switch at times to ProV1x. We are in the high desert and we also play in low 40s and 30s at times.
What has helped the ball react closer to warm weather during winter are:
1. I keep them indoors and not in the car or garage or outside.
2. In the morning, I soak them in hot water.
3. I keep them in a warm bag, hand warmers (not sure if that is legal in formal or tournament play)
4. I try and play the balls in rotation of every three holes.
For me, even though the difference is minimal, I enjoy doing it and it adds to the thought that I've done what I can. . . just something I do. For others who can crank the mph, it makes a good difference.
