According to Golf Digest, Jim Flick passed away today, one day after former student Tom Lehman won the Schwab Cup. Sad to hear.

One of the icons of golf instruction - I have one of his early instruction books - "Square to Square Golf" - Jim's knack in providing wonderfully simple analogies for complex swing moves and thoughts I think was the basis for his instructional genius. Always passionate, fully and continually energized, I think of Mr. Flick as Jack Nicklaus's partner outside of competitive golf and pioneer in the golf swing instruction business. He will be missed!

Sad to hear that, leaves behind a great legacy!

Thanks for the post, ausualum.  Yes, it's been all over the golf news.  The one I read this morning were words from Jack Nicklaus.  Never easy to see anyone go. . . a great teacher of golf.

In any case, despite the timing, 'just want to welcome you aboard FJC, if I haven't already.

    Nol

    Sorry to hear

Mr Flick was one of the truly inspirational golf teachers out there. He did it right, and was always one whose teaching you could rely on.

I was also reflecting on this.... He was a college room mate of Arnold Palmer's. Same age.

No big show, a true professional, very competent teacher.  His ideas will be around for a long time.
