Second Round of Titleist Testing

  •

The postman was gracious enough to deliver 3 Titleist balls to test. Not sure if this was severely delayed when everyone else got theirs or if there is another test going on. Has anyone else received some "testers" recently? These are black letters that I hope to try out this week.

Just enjoy a free sleeve of balls.  Too bad it was not a dozen.

  •

jlawton, I got my sleeve of red number balls last week.  Have played one round with one, but am going to try to give them a good test tomorrow.

  •

A buddy of mine received his yesterday. He didn't receive any the first go around, when I received mine.

  •

I just got a sleeve in the mail on Friday also, just hope I still get a chance to test them before the snow starts to fly!

  •

I recd mine in early October but they were black and red...pretty nice golf balls though!

  •

I'm assuming since I haven't received any by now I probably won't...guess being away for so long got me booted out of the loop for testing products...hope everyone that received testing products is enjoying them

Titleist just may have spaced out their testing.  From what I know, there are new balls coming out in Jan / Feb.  The new box is a bit different.  Look for my hand in the catalog that comes out in January....

So Buzza, how much is Titleist selling your hand for?

I got my test balls (ProV1-Black Number?) later in the testing cycle as well. After 5 rounds, the biggest difference I noticed was in the cover durability. I can scuff up a ball pretty well with a wedge (and the occasional cart path) but my test balls looked great. They felt a little firmer than ProV1s, but it was late in the season with rounds played in cooler temps in the 30s, 40s and 50s.

Distances were about the same as ProV1s, but a few mid - long irons may have been a couple yards longer.

I agree with all that the black test balls are a little firmer, tend not to scuff as easy but the important difference that I noticed was somewhat of a lower trajectory.
